PASS-A-LOUTRE
Owner: LDWF (115,596 acres, Lafayette Office)
Self-Clearing Permit required for all activities. Permits available through
the LDWF Self-clearing Permit app or internet/web portal or at Pass-
a-Loutre Headquarters, Camp Canal and all designated camping areas.
Oyster harvesting is prohibited. Camping allowed ONLY in designated
areas. See self-clearing permit stations at headquarters for designated
camping areas.
Vessels/Vehicles: All ATVs/UTVs, motorcycles, horses and mules are
prohibited. Mud boats or air-cooled propulsion vessels powered by
more than 36 total horsepower prohibited. Operation of mud boats
and air-cooled propulsion engines prohibited after 2:00 p.m. Sept. 1 -
Jan. 31, EXCEPT allowed after 2:00 p.m. in South pass, Pass-a-Loutre,
Southeast Pass, Loomis Pass, Dennis Pass, and Cadro Pass.
Deer Archery (bucks only): Oct. 1 - Feb. 15
Deer Youth Shotgun (bucks only): Oct. 24-25
Deer Shotgun: Bucks only may be taken with shotguns with either
slugs or buckshot for seven days starting the day after the closure of
the first split of duck season.
Small Game and Waterfowl: Same as outside. Beagles prohibited
October through the last day of waterfowl season.
Feral Hogs: May be taken by properly licensed hunters from Oct. 1 -
Feb. 28. In addition, hunters may hunt feral hogs with archery equip-
ment, shotguns loaded with buckshot or slugs, or rimfire rifles no larg-
er than .22 caliber from Feb. 16 - March 31. Hogs may be taken with
the aid of dogs Feb. 16 - March 15. Hunters must also display 400
square inches of Hunter Orange or Blaze Pink and wear a Hunter
Orange or Blaze Pink cap during special shotgun season for feral hogs.
Commercial Fishing: Same as outside. Commercial mullet fishing open only
in: South Pass, Pass-a-Loutre, North Pass, Southeast Pass, Northeast Pass,
Dennis Pass, Johnson Pass, Loomis Pass, Cadro Pass, Wright Pass, Viveats
Pass, Cognevich Pass, Blind Bay, Redfish Bay, Garden Island Bay,
Northshore Bay, East Bay (west of barrier islands) and oil and gas canals
as described on the LDWF Pass-a-Loutre WMA map.
PEARL RIVER
Owner: LDWF (35,619 acres, Hammond Office)
Self-Clearing Permit required for all activities. Old Hwy. 11 will be
closed when river gauge at Pearl River, La., reaches 16.5 feet (https://
water.noaa.gov/gauges/PERL1). All hunting, EXCEPT waterfowl hunt-
ing south of US Hwy 90, will be closed when the river stage at Pearl
River reaches 16.5 feet. No hunting in the vicinity of the Nature Trail.
Observe “No Hunting” signs. No loaded firearms or hunting within
100 yards of boardwalk.
Shooting Range: Self clearing permit not required, but all range users
must obtain a daily check-in numbered ticket at the range upon sign-

spring season, May 1-9, with or without dogs.

Raccoon (nighttime): Sept. 12-27 and Jan. 4 - Feb. 28

POINTE-AUX-CHENES

Self-Clearing Permit required for all activities. Self-clearing permits
available at Island Road Boat Launch, Grand Bayou Boat Launch, WMA
Campground/Pirogue Launch, Pointe Aux Chene Marina, Bayou Blue
Boat Launch, and at Point Farm gate behind Montegut Middle School
or through the LDWF Self-clearing Permit app or internet/web portal.
All nighttime activities prohibited, EXCEPT that hunters may enter the
WMA no earlier than 4 a.m. and must check out and exit the WMA
no later than two hours after sunset, or as otherwise specified. Pos-
session of more than one daily limit of fish/crab/shrimp while on the
WMA is prohibited. Trapping is allowed only by written agreement
with LDWF, Coastal WMAs, Wildlife Division. Parking of vehicles on le-
vees prohibited. Fishing, crabbing, cast netting or any other activities
or trespassing on water control structures are prohibited.

All Pointe-aux-Chenes Property
EXCEPT Point Farm Unit and Restricted Areas
Vessels/Vehicles: Type A personal watercraft, model year 2003 and be-
yond, which are 8 or more feet in length, may be operated on Pointe-
aux-Chenes WMA from April 1 until the Monday after Labor Day
Weekend, from sunrise to sunset only. No person shall operate such
watercraft at a speed greater than “slow/no wake” within 100 feet of
an anchored or moored vessel, shoreline, dock, pier, persons engaged
in angling or any other manually powered vessel.
All boats powered by internal combustion engines having total horse-
power above 25 Hp are not allowed in the Grand Bayou, Montegut
and Pointe-aux-Chenes water management units. Public is permitted
to travel anytime through the WMA for access purposes only, in the
waterways known as Cutoff Canal, Grand Bayou, Humble Canal, Little
Bayou Blue, Grand Bayou Blue, St. Louis Canal, and Bayou Pointe-aux-
Chenes unless authorized by LDWF. All ATVs/UTVs, motorcycles, hors-
es and mules are prohibited.
Limited Access Areas: Operation of internal combustion engines pro-
hibited from September through January. See WMA map for specific
location.
