BAYOU PIERRE

Self-Clearing Permit required for all activities.
Waterfowl Refuge is closed to all hunting, trapping and fishing EXCEPT
for archery hunting for deer, which is allowed on the entire area. Ref-
uge is marked with “Waterfowl Refuge” signs.
Deer Archery (either-sex): Oct. 1 - Jan. 31.
Waterfowl: Desoto Tract portion same as outside EXCEPT CLOSED
after 12 noon. Remainder of WMA closed to waterfowl hunting.
Physically Challenged Wheelchair-Confined Waterfowl Blind: PCHP
Waterfowl Blind available on Desoto Tract for use by PCHP
Wheelchair Bound class only. One helper allowed to hunt per quali-
fied PCHP permittee. PCHP blind use is first come/first serve.
Small Game: Same as outside. Beagles allowed for rabbits and dogs
allowed for squirrel hunting Dec. 19 - Feb. 28 and OPEN to squirrel
hunting during the spring season, May 1-9, with or without dogs.

Crystal Roads. That portion North of Big Lake and Crystal Roads open
to all activities. See WMA map for details.
CWD Management Zone: Attention deer hunters, Big Lake WMA is
located within a CWD Management Zone. See page 12 for more
information about deer carcass transport regulations.
